Sexy State of Mind

Sexy State of Mind

 #MySexySaturday Week 62

So this weeks #MySexySaturday edition is all about that Sexy State of Mind. That of the author, the reader, our characters....

As 'Declan' is a fairly new release, and I'm a fairly new author, I thought I'd give you all a little insight to Lizbeth's Sexy State of Mind when she runs into Declan, literally, for the first time. Enjoy!!

My mind did a complete shut down, no thought processes, no signals sent to any part of my body. Therefore I uttered no further words, made no movement, my left hand suspended in mid-air, eyes unblinking. I was getting light headed because my lungs had also stopped working at the same time as my brain and mouth shut down.Standing before me was the most beautiful specimen of the male form I had ever laid my eyes on. Ever.

Good Lord, if the time came where I was tempted to be with a man again, snicker, yeah right, this was definitely who I’d want to be tempted by. Stepping back, I looked up, and up and up and focused on the purest crystal clear grey eyes I’d ever seen. They were surrounded by thick black lashes, topped with a slash of black eyebrows. His hair was the same blue black of his eyebrows with a slight streaking of silver at the temples; it was wavy and looked like it needed a cut about a month ago. His nose looked like it had most likely suffered being broken a couple of times, what with the slight crook it displayed in the middle. But instead of detracting from the freakin’ gorgeousness of his face, it added a ruggedness to it that was oh so very appealing. He had a goatee that matched his hair, blue black with a few silver strands and was slightly long, but trimmed short enough to reveal his very sexy lips. I felt like I’d swallowed my freakin’ tongue.

Definitely not good.

"I-I'm so sorry." This time my apology came out as a breathy stammer. So embarrassing, "Please, excuse me." I started to step around him, only to be stopped short at the feel of his warm hand lightly cupping my elbow.

"Are you alright?" His voice rolled over me like a warm Santa Ana wind. So deep, so rumbly. I shook my head, trying to clear it.

"I'm fine, thank you. I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going." I gently pulled my arm from his grip and stepped around him and into the elevator. Turning around I pushed the button for the 5th Floor and looked out the doors at his heartstopping face. "Have a good day."

His face conveyed zilch, but his eyes were definitely conveying something. Reaching out with his left hand, he stopped the elevator doors from closing, took a step forward and held out his right hand. Not in my space but somehow occupying every inch of the elevator, and he wasn't even in it.

Changing My Mind...I Mean My Plot...

Dealing with Indecision

As an author, a female, and what I like to think of as a creatively OCD chic, there are a shitload of thoughts, characters (that I think of as actual people), having conversations, living their lives, hearts breaking, love interests disappearing, happily ever afters, serious steamy sex scenes, plot lines and ideas that are constantly and randomly running through my brain.

There's been so many freaking occasions where, no kidding, I've been in the shower, washing dishes, vacuuming the house, driving to pick up my boys from school, or miliseconds away from sleep, and I'll have a literary epiphany, an entire scene, conversation or story idea. And absolutely no way to write it down. To notate the awesomeness of my creativity. So I lose the very essence of it, time and again.

I've told my hubby over and over again, that I wish there was some kind of AI technology available, like in Star Trek (Captain's Log, Stardate Month of the Libra, first day, hours before end of day. There seems to be...copious amounts of moisture falling from a...strange, round looking object...protruding from the wall, with holes in it. Lt. WannaLicMe has droplets gathering and falling over her very rounded....) so I can literally say 'Record this...blah blah blah, his big cock...blah, blah, blah...He saw her issues and blah, blah, blah.

But I have, since finally deciding to write down all the crap banging around in my head, purchased a notebook, pink and black of course, and I've tried to keep track of the psychotically sexy and heartbreaking thoughts that always seem to grab hold of me at the worst times. Hands dripping with sudsy dish water, or body covered in shampoo being rinsed from my long ass freaking hair that my hubby won't let me cut. Not that I ever would, but still. Running out of the shower, dripping wet, while the hubby is staring at me, shell shocked as I open the computer and start tapping away, instead of jumping his bones, has been a little confusing for my man.

So when I've finally put pen to paper, so to speak, and expressed my thoughts, emotions and feelings, creating a story that hopefully will one day be shared with and loved by readers, it really pisses me the eff off when I morph into being all that the world says a woman is and change my freaking mind. I mean, at this point I've created the H and h, usually have an idea of their character traits and what crap in their life has shaped them into who they are when the book starts. But then I want to change the location, the antagonist, the reason the h doesn't wanna connect with the H, and I think, WTF?!

I mean, seriously, could I stop being a chic for the few months it takes to write a book!?!?!

And now? I'm writing two different stories. At the same time.

I seriously need all the alpha badassness of my H's to kick MY ass into writing their dang stories already, and stop second guessing myself.....

If only Declan, Jonathan and Jason actually could. :)

FYI ~ Jonathan & Sophie and Jason & Lucy are laughing indugently at me while I flounder. Knowing they'll have their say. So stay tuned, cause although I can be a little nutty, the lessons they've learned, and the way they've learned them, is a beautiful thing. And they can't wait for you to read about them.

You know, when I finally pull my thumb out.

Birthday Month!!!

Right, so I'm fully aware of the fact that today is September 30th. Therefore, technically, my birthday month is pretty much over. It's noon, so I've only got twelve more hours to celebrate. And this is the big one. Over the Hill, Farting Dust, all those wonderful terms for those of us lasting to the ripe ol' age of 40.

So I've decided to share the joy with everyone and changed the price of Declan on Amazon and Smashwords, woohoo!!!

It's on sale for 99c, so stop on over and get a HOT book at a HOT price!!!

Also, keep your eyes peeled, cause I'm currently in the process of writing Sophie, Book 2, and will be posting little snippets so everyone can fall in love with Jonathan and Sophie, just like I am.

In addition, Book 3 is already poppin' in my head!! Lucy and Jason are wanting their story, Survival, to be written right on the heels of Sophie!!! You briefly met Lucy in Declan, but Jason will be introduced to you in Sophie and Jonathan's story. Both Lucy and Jason have seen their fair share of heartache in their lives, but can they get past all that to see what could possibly be their future, if they just learn to trust again?
